Update on the Ford!

Slowly but surely she is coming apart. I've never pulled and engine before so it has been one giant learning process. As I go along ripping things off I'm coming to more of an understanding of how things work and how parts interact with each other. I'm also learning some accessibility issues are a pain to deal with. The upper intake plenum is held on by 6 bolts. As you can see it curves over to the left. Thankfully 2 of the 3 bolts on that side are still in easy access except for the one in the middle. For some reason it is not even a regular bolt head, but a T45 torx bit. To full my rage even further a 3/8's bit and ratchet are to fat to fit between the intake rows to even get to it! So I had to go to autozone and spend money I didn't want to on a 1/4 torx set with a long extension to reach it.

This picture is not the most recent but imagine looking at an engine ready to be taken out. My friend Austin brought his engine hoist down and the only thing left to do is hacksaw off some pesky exhaust that has rust welded itself to the headers, support the transmission under a jack, hook up the hoist, and undo the motor mounts and it will be out!
