Removing the turbo off an N14
First time being around and turbo and its simpler than I originally thought it would be. Being hands on with it really helps, its held on only by 4 nuts into the exhaust manifold that you can see below at the bottom of the picture:
We were told these turbos have never been off before so we were expecting to brake all the bolts. I took the mounting nuts off and they came out except the top left one, the nut seemed frozen and it unscrewed the stud out, but it wasn't broken.
A group member was taking off what I think is the oil return line on the bottom, he forgot he left from his right and started torquing the bolt down way to hard and broke it off completely.
After all that the turbo is finally off and ready for the next stage!
Good job, Dalton! Excellent use of photos. Team memebers.......expunge the word "group" from vocabulary. Broken bolt? Time for the easy-outs.
